The Mountain Road Strainer Co. ROAD KING is a self-clearing strainer that utilises the exhaust air from your pump to clear itself of debris as the pump pulls water through.
The Road King is perfectly suited to be placed in water-make on roadways and also works well in sumps.
THE 2″ PIT STRAINER
4.8MM & 8MM HOLE
The Mountain Road Strainer Co. PIT STRAINER is designed to clear debris off the strainers cage as it pulls water through it. The pumps exhaust air is pushed through an internal coiled pipe with deliberately placed holes along it. The air exhausts through these holes which, in turn, pushes the debris off the strainer to keep it clear.
The strainers shape allows for it to be used in many different environments. It will have no issues being dropped into an auger hole or into a sump. It can also be used for large roadway water make. We consider this strainer to very much be an all rounder.

The Self Clearing Strainers are designed to continue the pumping process even when there isn’t anyone physically manning the pump and strainer. The self-cleaning component of our strainers allows the operator to turn on the pump, ensure the pump is running, and walk away having confidence that the strainer will remain clear and the pump will keep on pumping. This allows labour to be utilised more effectively around a coal mine as there is no time wasted manning pumps and manually clearing strainer.
SAFER AND BETTER ROADWAYS
Using our strainers will result in a reduction of water make on your roadways creating a safer roadway. Less water will result in less potholes, so less possibility of injury to operators or damage to equipment.
Less roadway damage allows for better quality of travel on roadways and this achieves a faster, easier drive in and out of the mine. Getting operators from the surface to their job site and vice versa as quickly and safely as possible allows for optimal time on production.
The better the roadways the less need for roadway maintenance, therefore you are saving on material cost and labour cost.
